On Wednesday, March 18th, Stan & Kathy hosted a run to the Whidbey Island Ice Cream Company in Freeland (on Whidbey Island). What a great day! It had rained on Tuesday and rained on Thursday but, Wednesday was full of sun! A few of us hardy MG’ers even had the tops down! Those in attendance were Stan and KathyS; John; Tim and KathyR; Mike and Carol; Dick and Dorothy; and Randy and Janeen.
We met at the Farm House in on Highway 20, then headed for the Navy Museum in Oak Harbor. The Museum was great and darned if Stan did not run into a fellow who he was stationed there with. We then headed for the Freeland Café for lunch. We had a good lunch and lots of visiting. After lunch, we headed for the Whidbey Island Ice Cream Company. We got to tour their facility and see exactly how ice cream bars are made. We even got to go into their sub zero freezer .. .. .. –brrrrr. The best part of the tour is that they gave each one of us the pick of their ice cream bars and they were delicious! After the tour, we all went our separate ways and headed home. It was a great day and we thank Stan and Kathy for hosting the event.
