Twenty-eight hearty souls turned out for the Souper Saturday Rally on March 29th, with a total of 14 cars! There were 6 MGs, 1 Morris Minor, and 7 in the “heated seats” contingent, a fabulous turn-out for a somewhat “iffy”weather forecast. DaveB and SusanP lead the drive which included a brief run through the tulip festival area, looped thru Conway, then East to the foothills, a rest stop in Stanwood, then South through the Stilly Valley, back to Stanwood and on to Camano Island. Weather wasn’t perfect, but the rain held off until the final approach to Camano! There were reports of lots of eagle sightings. Next rest stop was at the Dave’s and Leslie’s house on Camano, for soup and salad lunch, and great chance to visit. After lunch, and BEFORE dessert, Karl held the quarterly meeting.
Susan had researched the best way for us to help the folks affected by the catastrophic Oso mudslide. She purchased 5 shovels, arranged for us all to sign with our thanks and blessings for all the hard work that’s going into the recovery effort. Our generous members contributed in excess of
$100 as well. These same members also brought lots of non-perishable food and money ($78) for donation to the Stanwood-Camano Food Bank. Thanks everybody for your wonderful generosity. –Leslie
